About Annie Waters Jewelry:

I’ve always love things that capture and reflect the light. I remember many times of sitting with my older sister’s jewelry in a sunny spot, just admiring the colors even glass can make. And walks with my mom and brothers on the gravel roads of Minnesota were often spent with a bucket in hand, collecting pretty rocks.

Then I began to notice other things; the lines and curves and balance in nature. As a teenager in Tennesee, I admired the gracefulness of honeysuckle, and the elegance of english ivy.

I’m a kitchen table jewelry artist who has decided my common workplace shouldn’t stop me from making uncommon jewelry! I use basic hand tools, such as pliers, files, a torch and a dremel. I start with wire or sheet metal, usually silver; form it, solder it, and polish it. Then I may add in precious or semi precious stones, or perhaps some beads. I love to learn, so new techniques may show up occasionally!

I count any skill or talent I may have, as well as eyes to see the beauty around us, as a great gift from God. It is my hope that when you see or wear something I have made, it causes you to pause and admire, even if just for a moment, the gleaming curve of metal, or the sparkle of a stone.

I currently live in Strasburg with my husband and two daughters. I am excited to be the Artist in Residence at the Shenandoah Valley Discovery museum until mid March. I’ll be offering simple jewelry projects for kids on Thursdays and select weekends- check the calendar for more info!
