Appomattox County is located in the center of the state and is best known for The Appomattox Court House National Historical Park where our nation reunited. Tourist come from all over the world to tour the National Park and learn the history of what took place in Appomattox on April 9, 1865. The American Civil Museum is also located in Appomattox and houses a large collection of civil war artifacts. Appomattox also offers great shopping, dinning and lodging and if you enjoy outdoor recreation we have three state parks all within a 20 minute drive of Appomattox. We invite you to come visit Appomattox and visit some of our local attractions and artisans.
