The Virginia Oyster Trail (VOT) has launched a new, redesigned website with improved functionality. The new website includes a directory of all existing members of VOT and a VOT trail map as well as other new features including downloadable itineraries.

“We are thrilled to support oysters in the Commonwealth of Virginia through our new VOT website,” said Bruce Vogt, owner of Big Island Aquaculture and the immediate past president of VOT. “We know that this supports VOT members, our rural coastal communities, our national heritage, the Virginia Oyster and the Chesapeake Bay.”

The website was redesigned by Consociate Media, a firm in Gloucester, VA, after a competitive bidding process.

“We were excited to partner with the Virginia Oyster Trail to build the new, enhanced website for visitors and (most importantly) the trail members! The redesigned site offers improved navigation, rich content showcasing Virginia’s oyster heritage and trail destinations, interactive maps, and easier access to information about trail partners, events, and resources. This upgrade increases visibility for every participant while making the trail even more engaging and accessible for oyster lovers across Virginia and beyond!” said Michael Kimball, partner with Consociate Media.

This VOT project was funded in part due to a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation.

VOT membership is open to new members. Trail members can be oyster growers, tour guides, restaurants, agri-artians, lodging partners and more. Join now!

The VOT, a non-profit organization, rallies local communities across the Commonwealth and invites visitors to participate in a “journey of discovery” through eco-tourism and culinary experiences exploring the many “flavors” of Virginia’s Oysters and the distinctive coastal way of life featuring aquaculture and watermen.

VOT is not just building a trail. VOT is cultivating local economy. For more information, please visit the VOT website or follow the VOT Facebook page or VOT Instagram.
