Capt. Danny Crabbe, owner/operator of Crabbe’s Charter Fishing and third generation waterman, started FAT ‘N HAPPY OYSTER COMPANY, his oyster aquaculture farm, in 2009. As a “mom and pop company” if you will, he and his crew have been working hard ever since, raising incredibly tasting oysters in cages in the Little Wicomico River. Oyster seed is purchased from local Virginia hatcheries and carefully grown to market size. Since these triploid oysters don’t spawn, they stay “fat ‘n happy” and may be eaten year-round.

Capt. Danny is creating tour options of the farm, in addition to offering Waterman Heritage Tours where folks can learn about life working on the water and includes pulling crab pots and tonging oysters.
